UCP Marjon, in partnership with Plymouth College are building a new artificial hockey pitch at the rear of the campus at Derriford Road.
The pitch is being built by contractors Thornton Sports, specialists in laying tracks, pitches and other sports surfaces.
Contractors aim to have the pitch finished by mid April with an official opening being held with Plymouth College, UCP Marjon and Plymouth Marjon hockey club.
Jamie Oxley, Lecturer in Coaching & Sports Development & RELAYS Project Manager said:
“The event will involve coaching and a number of matches to celebrate this fantastic new facility. The new pitch fits nicely into our ethos of supporting community sport and encouraging exercise in the city.”

“We are delighted to be developing this new facility in partnership with Plymouth College. The new pitch will play a major role in the development of hockey for both organisations and the wider community and will increase opportunities for many hockey players to develop their skills on a high quality surface.”
