The University of St Mark & St John has a new Student Union presidential team in Dan Whitby and Pat Charles.
Student Union president Dan has just completed a degree in Sport Development and Coaching, graduating with a 2:1 from the university.
Dan, originally from Woking, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been elected Student Union president. It is an honour and I hope to repay all those who voted for me, through hard work and dedication.
“For the upcoming year we have a strategy to increase the employability skills of our students through volunteering and short courses, allied to a friendly office where students can come in at any time to share their views. We want to bring the Student Union back to the students.”
Student Union deputy president Pat, 22, has just completed a degree in Media Writing and Journalism at the university’s state-of-art Journalism and Media (JAM) Centre.
Pat, from Taunton, said: “This year is going to be a great year. I can’t wait to make a real difference to this institution.
“I want to welcome all students to the university and I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of them.
“The Student Union office is located by the dining hall and our door is always open. We encourage students to feel free to stop by any time for queries regarding any student matter or for a general chat.”
