Plymouth Argyle supports Marjon Student Union fun run

Released: 26.09.16

Marjon Student Union is hosting a fancy dress fun run with the support of Plymouth Argyle players.

Taking place at 4pm on October 10, the event is part of Marjon Student Union’s Mental Health campaign ‘Where’s Your Head At?’

The Student Union is hosting the fun run around the University’s campus in support of World Mental Health Day.

Argyle players Sonny Bradley, Nauris Bulvitus and Ryan Brunt posed with Marjon Student Union’s mascots the lion and the lamb to support the event.

This is the second year that Marjon Student Union has hosted a mental health campaign which aims to raise awareness and encourage the acceptance of mental health issues.

Research has shown that one in four adults has been diagnosed with a mental illness at some stage during their lifetime.

The fun run will be two miles around campus and will take approximately 20-25 minutes, ending in the Desmond Tutu Theatre. There will be a short performance in the theatre afterwards to provide information on mental health, and challenge some of the common misconceptions.

The event is fancy dress so you can expect to see the lion and the lamb once again in their full costume, as well as other students in fancy dress.

If you are interested in running the short fun run, spectating or helping out, then you can register your interest on Facebook here.
