Plymouth born University of St Mark & St John honours graduate Jemma Rose has joined the country’s most successful women’s football team, Arsenal Ladies, ahead of the 2015 Women’s Super League season.
The 22-year-old defender- who studied sports science and coaching at the University – skippered Bristol Academy in their historic last 16 Champions League win over Barcelona in November.
After four seasons at Bristol, Rose teams up with an Arsenal Ladies side which has won 40 major women’s trophies to date including the European Women’s club championship in 2007 and the domestic Women’s FA Cup in June this year.
England Under 23 international Rose, whose first league club was her hometown team, Plymouth Argyle Ladies, also spent a season at Birmingham City Ladies sandwiched between her two successful spells at Bristol Academy.
Rose was Women’s FA Young Player of the Year in 2011.
