The University of St Mark & St John are utilising local knowledge to promote their BIG Open Day on Saturday June 21.

Plymouth marketing creatives Knowledge Collective have included famous city landmark Smeaton’s Tower – as well as distinctive whales – as part of a BIG new branding campaign aimed to promote the University.

Emma Hewitt, head of marketing and communications at the University, said: “The best performing campaigns are those that combine eye catching branding and engagement - the team at Knowledge have certainly delivered this for our Big Open Day. I am excited about working in partnership to further promote the fantastic opportunities at our University - we maybe small but we are ambitious with a BIG reputation for providing an outstanding student experience leading to high levels of employment. The passion, creativity and commitment from the Knowledge Collective team is impressive and has helped inject a new lease of life in our student marketing efforts.”

Commuters will have already spotted bright, bold cityscapes, mountains and those eye-catching blue whales bobbing along on the side of buses in the South West, all part of the new initiative.

More BIG designs are in the pipeline as part of the University’s marketing partnership with Knowledge Collective.

Knowledge Collective partner Dave Pearce said: “The BIG Open Day is a great opportunity for potential students to look around the University, so to be able to put a fun, interesting twist on it has been great. We’re very much looking forward to seeing people enjoy what’s on offer at their next Big Open Day on 21 June.

“We were thrilled to be able to work with the University to promote their Big Open Days. They’ve been great to work with so far and we’re excited to see how the partnership could develop in the future.”
