University of St Mark & St John Journalism and Media graduates have been nominated for a prestigious Magazine Academy Award.
Talented JaM students Rebecca Bellew, Amanda Morton, Anais Hancock and Kat Hannell took journalism module Magazine Production 2 early this year and created an eye-catching young women's fashion title called Outfit.
Inspired by magazines including Company, Grazia and Elle, the students wrote and designed the special 36-page issue as well as creating a Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts to replicate industry practice.
Outfit has now been nominated in the BBC Worldwide Best New Magazine of the Year category. Winners receive a £500 cash prize as well as praise and recognition from the Magazine Academy and top judges.
"This team of students worked incredibly hard on creating a magazine with a slick professional design and on-trend content that totally hit their target market of 18 to 25 year old women. They put in hours of extra time perfecting this magazine and their effort has been rewarded with a nomination against some very tough competition," said module leader Liz Miller.
The glittering ceremony takes place at Sheffield University and will be hosted by David Hepworth who launched the Just 17, Mojo, Q, Empire and Heat titles.
