The 6th annual Media Innovation awards were held last night at The BBC Paintworks studios in Bristol. 250 media luminaries and expectant nominees enjoyed the gala dinner hosted by the Media Innovation Network which is chaired by UCP Marjon’s head of Media and Creative Arts, Adrian Emerson.
These awards hold a unique place in the creative calendar and they are supported by some of the biggest and best regional companies and all major HE institutions. An incredibly high standard of work was showcased in a wide range of applications and sectors from Film and TV to web sites, animations, print, mobile applications and more besides. UCP Marjon sponsored the best website category won by Nixon Design who beat off stiff competition from the big boys ,Two Four and Aardman. The Bristol based animation geniuses, (Wallace, Grommit and much else besides), did however win the ultimate Outstanding Contribution award.
The whole event was streamed live and recorded by innumerable media , not least our very own Sarah McAdam – a steering group member of the MIN network – who worked tirelessly as event photographer for the night.
Karen Stockdale from MIA said “A huge “official” thank you to UCP Marjon for supporting the 2012 event. The feedback we’ve had has been fantastic. It has also enabled us to remind regional organisations and the wider community of the importance and value of the creative sector within the economy and we are very grateful for assistance in doing that.”
