University to host AoC regional championships

The University of St Mark & St John is hosting four more key events for the Association of Colleges Sport (AoC) regional championships this week.


The three first round events - men’s seven-a-side football, women’s hockey and volleyball – have already taken place at the University’s state-of-the-art sport centre.


Hundreds of sports students from colleges across South West will again descend on Plymouth for the regional qualifiers.

The first round events also included men and women’s basketball at City College Plymouth, squash at the Virgin Active Devonshire Health & Racquets Club and table tennis at Eggbuckland Community College.


On Wednesday the second round of the South West Championships AoC Sport championships will include badminton, women’s football, men’s hockey and swimming at the University of St Mark & St John.


The regional AoC Sport cross-country championships are set be staged at Central Park, Plymouth, weather-permitting.

The regional rugby championships are being held at Weston-super-Mare RFC this year with the national championships at the University of Bath next March.
