Chris joined Plymouth Marjon University in 2007 having worked in formal and informal education since 1981. Her previous experience includes working as residential social worker/teacher, secondary school teaching in Zimbabwe, youth work, and educator within the drug and alcohol field. A growing interest in research led Chris to write about partnership work with schools, to develop material for use in secondary schools, and ultimately to a Masters in Education following a PGCE. She has a particular interest in lifelong learning and in safeguarding. She is currently researching the experience of students engaged in Foundation Degree programmes.
