On Tuesday 1st July, the Marketing & Communications team from University College Plymouth St Mark & St John took part in the Cares Challenge. The challenge took place at Bishop Cornish Primary School in Saltash.

‘Plymouth Cares’ is Business in the Community’s employee voluntary scheme that matches community projects with a company and it’s staff through team building challenges.

The team from UCP Marjon regenerated the school’s playgrounds, by painting board games on tables, games on the playground, farm animals on to the fences, new lines on the net ball court and weather protecting the benches.

Equipment was kindly donated by several local companies including ROK, B&Q, PPG Architectural Coatings Johnstone’s Leyland, HSS Hire and a local painter and decorator; Mr Kerswill.

Kate Lister, Marketing & Communications Adviser said:

“We were blessed with glorious weather which made a day out of the office to complete this task even more enjoyable. The school were really pleased with all the hard work we put in and we hope other teams from UCP Marjon will take part in future volunteering opportunities.”
