UCP Marjon tops all SW Universities and Oxbridge for job prospects
Released: 21.07.09
HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) recently published their 2007/2008 performance indicator for the employment of graduates. The performance indicator examines the employment status of last summer’s graduates six months after graduation.
UCP Marjon outperformed all other South West institutions with 93.9% of its graduates either in employment or continuing in higher education. In addition to other South West universities, this percentage is above both the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. With applications up by 14% this year at UCP Marjon, the University College continues to be a popular choice for students in the South West and further afield.
Vice Principal Geoff Stoakes commented:“We are delighted with these figures, and believe it is an indication of the quality and reputation of our institution and is directly related to the vocational focus of our courses. Our academic staff are all committed to working with students to help them achieve their career goals. Now with our University College status and degree awarding powers – we are looking to continue to develop degrees relevant to our student’s career ambitions. This may also be the reason for our popularity and why our UCAS applications are up by over 14% this year.”
