Please come in and have a look around the building – it’s here for you.
The Marshall Room
With its sofas, TV and kitchen, the Marshall Room is probably the most comfortable space on campus. Feel free to eat your lunch here, or just pop in for a break to lounge on the sofas and use the TV and DVD player. Tea, coffee and toast making facilities are available in the kitchen area at a small cost and a selection of Fairtrade spreads, chocolate and snacks are for sale - always popular! There is also a microwave oven for you to heat up your own food.
The Quiet Room
This is a multi-faith place of prayer, meditation and silent reflection. Please make use of the 'do not disturb' sign if you wish. The room is a neutral space and is paticularly used by many of the University College's Islamic students. Prayer mats, Islamic prayer times and geographical directions for Islamic prayer are all available as well as soft furnishings and a Yoga mat for other religious traditions.
The Chapel
The Chapel of St Mark & St John Baptist is a place for prayer and reflection. It is a beautiful and restful space at the heart of the University College. During the day it is normally available as a place of sanctuary and quiet. It normally contains tables for quiet work, a table stocked with art materials for creative reflection, and a 'soft cushion' prayer area. It is the setting for most of our services including:-
The Chaplain’s Office
When the Chaplan is in his office the door is normally open so please pop in and say hello, have a chat, seek advice; or talk about anything at all whether or not it has to do with Christianity, religious faith in general, or his role in the college. The Chaplain is also available for more private conversations and the Chaplain's office is a quiet private space for this purpose. (There is a link to the Chaplaincy Confidentiality policy on the Chaplaincy Home Page)
The Chaplaincy Office
This is the home of the Chaplaincy Assistants. Come in and meet the team! Pop in for a chat; meet us and anyone else that’s around. There is always something happening around here! People drop in and out all day to listen to ideas, give information, help with problems, or just chat.
