SCONUL Access
What is SCONUL Access?
SCONUL Access is a reciprocal borrowing scheme between most Higher Education libraries of the UK. If you are eligible you can join the scheme and then borrow materials from other libraries.
A list of libraries in the UK that participate in the scheme is available from the SCONUL Access website.
Who is eligible to use SCONUL Access?
- Members of staff
- Research students, eg PhD, MPhil
- Full time postgraduate students, eg MA, MEd
- Distance learner students
- Part time students
- Students who are away on placement that lasts more than 6 weeks
How do you register to use SCONUL Access?
To join SCONUL Access you will need to fill in an application form and then bring it into the Library to be approved. You can either pick up a form in the Library or print one out from the SCONUL Access website.
Library staff will check your eligibility and then issue you with a SCONUL Access card. You will need to present this card, along with your UCP Marjon Library card, when you visit any of the libraries participating in the scheme. This will identify you as a bona fide member of the scheme.
If you are a member of another institution and want to borrow from UCP Marjon Library?
If you are not a registered UCP Marjon Library user and you wish to take advantage of this scheme please make enquiries at your home library. Once you have joined SCONUL Access via your home institution, you will be issued with a SCONUL Access card and can approach us to join our Library; you are allowed to borrow 5 books at a time.
