Fixed-Term to cover maternity leave March 2012 until return of postholder
These posts in our Initial Teacher Education department offer an exciting opportunity for colleagues with energy, enthusiasm and vision to help develop our Primary and Early Years programmes which cover Undergraduate, Postgraduate and GTP routes. Our numbers continue to increase and in our most recent Ofsted inspection the Primary and Early Years courses were graded as outstanding. We are keen to appoint members of staff with proven experience of work in schools and with student teachers. For the maternity cover we are particularly looking for candidates with strengths in science and/ or ICT and for the other posts strengths in English, science, ICT, MFL or Early Years.
The successful candidates will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status;
- Successful experience of teaching in schools;
- Experience of working with student teachers;
- A Higher Degree or a commitment to study at this level will be a condition of the appointments;
- Particular curriculum strengths required as above.
The successful candidates will join a committed and innovative team of tutors with proven success in teaching, research and writing for publication. The University College also welcomes applications from those seeking secondment from their present post. This could take the form of a part-time or full-time secondment and we would be very happy to discuss options on working arrangements and start dates with colleagues from partnership schools.
