Plymouth Marjon Netball winners in local competition

On Saturday 4th July the first Devon Corporate
Games was held in Plymouth at several locations across the city involving a
variety of sports. The Corporate games are
open to everyone and to every size and kind of business, institution or
organisation from builders, bankers, artists, scientists, police,
politicians and financial wizards. All full and part time employees,
colleagues, clients, family and friends are welcome to compete with the
corporate teams frequently including competitors from many countries. No
qualifying standards are required and the sports are open equally to women and
men.
Plymouth Marjon entered the Netball Competition which was
held at the newly opened UCP Marjon Sports Centre . The squad was made up of 4
Under 16 members and one Under 14 member of the Club, along with many family
connections such as a combination of
Grandma. Mother and Daughter.
Plymouth Marjon won the competition, winning
all their matches with their main rivals being the Nestar Health Care squad
from Birmingham.
The squad attended the awards ceremony on completion of the
tournament with individual medals being awarded along with the Competition
Trophy. Plymouth Marjon Team have also been
invited to attend the Somerset Corporate Games at Millfield School
in Somerset. The squad will be minus a few of the young players who are attending
the Devon Youth games to Inspire as Young Volunteers due to be held at
Tavistock.
