Marjon Choir

Marjon Choir is student led and based at the Chaplaincy Centre. It is a great opportunity to sing in a group where no previous experience is necessary.

The choir sing a variety of styles of music and rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 5.30pm. The highlights of the choir year are

  • the Christmas Carol service held at the end of the Winter term
  • the bi-annual 'Cathedral Group' choir festival in the spring term
  • the Christingle service held early in the Spring term with the local primary school and their choir
  • the Marjon concert, held towards the end of the spring term.

Everyone is welcome to join - particularly men! Check out the Choir FaceBook page.

Jump Team

The JUMP team uses biblical stories to deliver assemblies to Plymouth's Primary Schools. The University has always had a strong sense of social concern and so the JUMP team enables the institution to support and encourage our local schools. For our students this is a great opportunity to engage with the local primary schools and is open to anyone who wants to join in the fun.

It is particularly useful for B.Ed (primary) students who might benefit from the experience of taking whole school assemblies. Contact Michelle Parkman in the Chaplaincy Office for more information.

Social activities

Being part of the Chaplaincy community means that from time to time we can all get together and just have fun.We like to organise evenings which might include board games, barbeques, chocolate parties, films, quizzes, pizzas etc - everyone is welcome!

There are also extra services for special occasions, exhibitions, courses, trips and day retreats - so there is plenty to be involved with.
