Local doctors

Elm Surgery

We have a strong working partnership with our local doctors practice, Elm Surgery. We encourage students who are living on campus or moving to the immediate vicinity to register with a GP on arrival. You can contact Elm Surgery on 01752 776772 (24 hrs) or by email via elm.surgery@nhs.net or you can use NHS Direct to find local GP services.

Dentists

You should make an appointment for a dental check-up every 12 months. Some dentists will delete you from their list of registered patients if you do not make an appointment within a certain period of time and you'll have to register again.

There are three types of dentist surgery that you can choose from:

  • surgeries that treat NHS patients
  • surgeries that treat private patients
  • surgeries that treat both NHS and private patients

You can search for local NHS dentists online.

To apply for free NHS dental treatment view the HC11 booklet which gives guidance about NHS charging arrangements in England or view the NHS information page. Further information can be found on the British Dental Health Foundation website.
