In preparation for the new Library self-service facilities that are being installed next month, there will be some building work on the ground floor of the Library next week to prepare for new security gates. Both the entrance and exit doors will be affected, so we will close off each set of doors as needed.
The work will be noisy as it involves removing carpet and digging into concrete, so you may not want to work on the ground floor – however we do have all our other study facilities available on the 1st & 2nd floor, and have also booked the 3rd floor teaching room as additional study space that week so there will be plenty of places for you to work.
Apologies for the fact that this is taking place during term time, but the self-service facilities are being installed during June so we can make sure everything is working as it should by the time you return in September.

Media Services equipment
Please note that all Media Services equipment needs to be returned to Media and Computing Services between 9-5, Monday to Friday. The Library cannot accept returns of equipment outside these times.
All enquiries relating to the renewal or return of equipment should be directed to Media Services at:

New catalogue interface
The Library has upgraded its catalogue. It looks different but you can still search for all the information you did previously – plus more! You can limit your searches to include or exclude certain types of item, eg 3 day or weekly loan, or ebooks. You can search only for items which are in stock and you can also retrieve information in searches when you’re not quite sure exactly how the words are spelled. You can still renew (unless the items are on hold or your fines exceed £10) and reserve items online (unless they are in stock and on the shelves). You can also see what items you currently have on loan, what you have borrowed previously, what fines you owe and what fines you’ve paid in the past.
