Teaching Excellence Framework 2023 - Gold Award

Plymouth Marjon University has been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023. The TEF is a national scheme run by the Office for Students (OfS) that aims to encourage higher education providers to deliver excellence in the areas that students care about the most: teaching, learning and achieving positive outcomes from their studies.

In awarding Marjon Gold, the TEF panel acknowledged Plymouth Marjon University's unwavering commitment to providing high-quality teaching, fostering excellent learning experiences, and consistently surpassing the rigorous national standards set for higher education institutions in the UK.

The Teaching Excellence Framework, initiated by the Department for Education, aims to assist prospective students in making informed decisions about where to pursue their higher education. It assesses universities based on teaching quality, learning environment, and student outcomes, with institutions receiving a provisional award of bronze, silver, or gold, subject to review every three years.

Plymouth Marjon University's remarkable achievement in the TEF 2023 is complemented by its outstanding performance in other renowned university guides and surveys. The University has been ranked among the top 10 universities in the UK in multiple categories in The Daily Mail's University Guide and The Guardian University Guide. Furthermore, Plymouth Marjon secured the top spot UK for Assessment in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey

2023 and earned the second position in England for Student Satisfaction in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2023, solidifying its position as a premier institution dedicated to empowering students for success.

In the recently released Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, Marjon earned a coveted place in the top 5 universities in England for Teaching Quality and Social Inclusion, highlighting its dedication to delivering first-class education and fostering an inclusive and diverse campus community.

Notably, Plymouth Marjon University has also secured the fourth position in the UK for supporting disabled students and a place within England's top 10 for Student Experience, further demonstrating its commitment to providing a positive and enriching educational journey for all students.
