The University of St Mark & St John is ready to guide students through clearing following the publication of A-Level results. Thousands of students find out on 18 August where they will be going to university in September. Some students will have surpassed their predicted grades while others will embark on their Higher Education journey via Clearing.
A special ‘Clearing Open Day’ takes place from 10:00 until 14:00 on Saturday 20 August at the Marjon campus in Derriford, Plymouth. Stephen Plant, Head of Registry Services said: “Clearing is for students without confirmation of their firm or insurance choices. Results day a busy time of year where we have lots of excited students tweeting us as their places have been confirmed. It’s a huge day of celebration and relief for many families.
“We also have some students not reach quite the grades they were expecting, so we work with them to ask them to submit more work or call in to discuss their grades. We believe in supporting as many people as possible to have the opportunity to study higher education and there are many different courses to choose from. There are places available for September, so you don’t have to wait until results day to apply.”
Dr Roger Pitt, Student Recruitment Manager at Marjon, said: “We are delighted to invite prospective students and their families to visit the campus for our Clearing Open Day on 20 August where students can talk to academics about their grades, see the student accommodation and check out our state-of-the-art facilities.”
The University staff are on hand to help students as they receive their results. Students can telephone the friendly admissions team on 0800 0152534 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information about courses visit marjon.ac.uk/clearing.
