The annual Plymouth School Sports Partnership Primary PE Conference was held at the University on 14 September.
The Partnership presented the School Games Mark Awards and the Plymouth School Swimming Programme Award in recognition of schools commitment to development PE & Sport. In addition, a Keynote was delivered by Professor Brendon Noble.
The annual conference which has been running since 2003 forms a key part of the development of Primary School Physical Education and school sport in the city.
Anna Clooke, Joint Partnership Development Manager said: ”We are delighted to be working with Marjon to hold this event using their excellent facilities and enabling their student trainee teachers to engage in the programme."
With the Government continuing to invest in Primary Physical Education through the PE & Sport Premium it is the role of the Plymouth School Sports Partnership to support schools to provide high quality opportunities and experience for pupils.
Primary teachers responsible for PE were joined by trainee primary teachers from Marjon with a range of workshops to choose from; gymnastics, dance, parkour, hockey, multi sports, frisbee, golf, invasion games, social media and school games mark.
The event provided a great opportunity for sharing good practice and networking amongst experienced teachers and those about to embark in the profession.
The Plymouth School Sports Partnership supports working with 80 primary, secondary and special schools in the city.
The event was supported by Attik Dance, Youth Sports Trust and Central Park Golf.
