Charles Peers

Role Summary

Charles worked as a Surgical Research Assistant at Kings College Hospital London before entering the British School of Osteopathy (BSO). On qualifying as an Osteopath Charles then worked in private practice and also joined the Research Department at the BSO, working also as a member of faculty and lecturing in physiology. He also worked in the NHS, initially in the Marylebone Back Pain Clinic, one of the first multidisciplinary NHS back pain clinics to employ osteopaths in the country.

Charles later moved to Plymouth and contributed towards the formation of the Plymouth Community Back Pain Service which started in February 2000 and has published papers regarding its activities in the Journal of Orthopaedic Medicine. He continues today in these clinics and has advised the General Osteopathic Council and Institute of Osteopathy on matters related to osteopathic provision within the NHS.
