  • Our popular film degree is a new and dynamic course which gives students the opportunity to study in Bristol or Berlin. Perfect for those who wish to create their own films or enter the film industry, the course takes a vocational approach to deliver tailored results.

Our film students focus on the wider technical and creative context of making films, developing strong employability and business knowledge along the way. You will work on small-scale, low-budget film projects to obtain realistic, industry-based knowledge. Throughout the course, you’ll be given technical, academic and creative opportunities using industry simulations and live briefs as models of teaching and learning.

You will also be given plenty of opportunities to work on real productions in line with your ambitions, from short film productions and online TV, to placements in TV studios and on feature film sets.

During the course, students will learn from industry specialists, developing solid technical foundations and a strong creative approach that will prepare them for a successful career in the film industry. You’ll study a variety of genres including drama, documentary, commercial and avant-garde.

Assessments will incorporate technical and creative tasks, film projects, traditional essays, blogs and portfolios. We also hold regular networking sessions so that students can meet industry professionals and make valuable contacts for their futures.

You’ll be given the choice of studying in Bristol or Berlin, both locations offering purpose-built facilities packed with industry-standard kit.
