There are two supermarkets that are close to the University of St Mark & St John. Tesco and ASDA. These are large supermarkets which sell most things that you will need. There is also a smaller Co-op supermarket and a range of small shops at Crownhill, about a mile and a half from the University. There is a Marks & Spencer up-market food shop, called Simply Food, close to Derriford Roundabout.
In Plymouth you will find a Morrisons supermarket and and a Sainsbury's supermarket, together with many smaller, more specialized shops. There are two delicatessens (The Continental Food Centre and Worldwide Foods) at the bottom of Cornwall Street that sell halal meat.
Plymouth also has a very good indoor market selling fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and other produce in a more traditional setting.
