BASES Student Conference 2017 Programme
BASES Student Conference Keynote Speakers
A significant international trend in sport and exercise science is the clinical application of exercise science. Clinical exercise science will be the central theme and sessions will explore practice and research involving exercise training as a therapeutic treatment for cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease and metabolic disorder. Other topics in sport and exercise science will be addressed too to create a broad and compelling programme for delegates.
Plymouth Marjon University is ranked 4th best university in the UK for sports facilities by Times Higher Education (THE) and is the only University in the South West to achieve laboratory accreditation by BASES. Our laboratory facilities include two exercise physiology laboratories, a biomechanics laboratory and a rehabilitation laboratory.
The conference will be based at our vibrant green and self-contained campus. It takes just minutes to walk between the sports centre, lecture theatres, teaching rooms, restaurant, shop and accommodation. We've really got all you need right here.
Plymouth Marjon University is located in Derriford, on the northern edge of Plymouth. Our city is packed with character and charm and delegates may enjoy waterside dining at the Barbican or the Royal William Yard. Or if you love the great outdoors then it is a short trip to the beach or to Dartmoor National Park. With transport links by road and rail, Plymouth Marjon University is easily accessible to those travelling to the conference and on-site parking is available.
Situated on campus, our halls of residence will offer up to 150 rooms for conference delegates. Off-site accommodation is also available, a Travelodge hotel is a 5-10 min walk from campus and the Future Inn is a 10-15min from campus.
