  • This one-year, full-time course is designed to build on your specialism and prepare you for securing the most sought-after positions in the field of sports therapy.

    The course is intensive and practically driven, with a firm focus on the application of theoretical knowledge. You’ll work on diagnosing and treating sport- and exercise-related injury within our world-class sports therapy facilities.

    The course is fully accredited by the UK Sports Therapy Organisation and, on completion, our graduates are entitled to membership with insurance at the level of Graduate Sports Therapist.

    During the course, you’ll work on your academic and practical skills, meaning your approach to sports therapy will involve a blend of theory and evidence-based knowledge. Our sports therapy students all develop clinical competence and a graduate-level ability to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunctions.

    Our wide range of modules includes diagnostic and injury management, exercise rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. Supervised placement hours within the University’s sports therapy and rehabilitation clinic will help students’ development and understanding of pathologies and management of sports injuries through practical experience.

This course is run by Sarah Catlow, Nic Perrem and Sarah Martin. This team of three seasoned professionals brings a wealth of experience to students on our sports therapy course. Between them, they’ve performed significant research into kinesiology taping, lower limb muscle asymmetry and injury prevention.
