Gill Golder



Gill is a Department Head for Physical and Coach Education, and Faculty lead for learning enhancement and student experience; as senior lecturer she Programme leads Physical Education B.Ed and PGCE. She taught in comprehensive schools in Birmingham and Plymouth taking on roles such as Head of Physical Education, SSCO and second in 6th form before moving into HE 10 years ago.

Her role in HE is predominantly working with B.Ed and PGCE secondary PE students, although also contributes to a number of under graduate programmes. Her research interest lie in inclusion and school organization, ICT in PE and learning and cognitive styles. She recently completed her thesis for her MPhil entitled ‘An Exploration of the Interrelationships between Inclusive Education, School Structure and Flexibility, Collaboration and School Values’ which focused on the link between inclusive education and school improvement, in addition, she has published work on preparing the next generation of teachers for inclusive schools.
