Karen Stockham


Karen Stockham has had a varied career inside and outside of higher education over the last 20 years.  She has taught modules in Disability and Leisure on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Sociology of Leisure and held a two-year National Lottery-funded contract to project-advise on the development of bespoke clothing for young people with disabilities.  

Karen has also presented conference papers on leisure and disability in Cardiff and North Wales and was the holder of a Hewitt-Driver award to research and compare access provision for disabled people in the Yorkshire Dales and Dartmoor National Parks.  She is currently Head of Postgraduate Development in the Faculty of Education, Health and Welfare.
