REPLAY is the University’s campus-wide Content Capture system. REPLAY allows us to automatically capture content, for example, presented during a live lecture, and to make that recorded material available via LearningSpace within a short period of time.
Once content has been captured by REPLAY, Marjon students studying on that module have access to a high-quality recording, including any on-screen content synchronised with the audio, to further support their learning. Using their laptop, tablet or smartphone, students can watch the entire recording again, or just fast-forward to the part which you didn’t quite understand the first time around. It's essentially an On Demand service for lectures and other recorded learning material!
The University, like many other institutions across the UK and further afield, believes that content capture has the potential to benefit students and staff alike. As set out in the Replay Policy below, the University has therefore committed to automatically capturing all timetabled lectures via the REPLAY system. All users of REPLAY should familiarise themselves with the policy, guidance and the service level agreement.
The purpose of this policy is to provide clear guidance to academic and administrative staff on the University’s expectations regarding the use of the REPLAY Content Capture system. In order to ensure these aims are being met the policy will be subject to annual evaluation and revision.

Recording by the University of educational activities is an important part of the University’s strategy to enhance the quality of the student experience, and the University sees it increasingly as part of mainstream academic work. The University recognises, however, that occasionally members of staff or students may have legitimate reasons for not wishing to be recorded and this is permitted under the terms set out in the policy. Staff wishing to opt out can do so by completing the forms below.
REPLAY Lecture Opt-Out Form
(word .doc, 67 kbs)
REPLAY Module Opt-Out Form (word .doc, 68 kbs)
REPLAY Deletion Request Form (word .doc, 67 kbs)
Students should contact their tutor if they wish to be removed from a recording (on a lecture-by-lecture basis).
Computing & Media Services manage the roll-out of the REPLAY service to on-campus teaching rooms. We are currently investigating the feasibility of providing lecture capture in non-standard teaching rooms (such as Sports Labs or Apple Mac suites).
This list was last updated on: 22nd September 2014. If your room is not listed please contact the e-Learning Team.
