The Lord Caradon Lectures Trust was established to commemorate the life and work of Hugh Mackintosh Foot, Lord Caradon (1907-1990). By the terms of the Trust all lectures are open to the public and admission is free. The lectures are run with support from Plymouth Marjon University and the University of Plymouth.

Lord Caradon Lecture 2021 was titled 'A Conversation with Kim Darroch'. Kim served as the British Ambassador to the United States from 2016-2019. He resigned following the leak of diplomatic cables in which he had been critical of the Trump administration. The event was hosted by BBC South West's Political Editor, Martyn Oates.
