The Plymouth Oracy Project
The Plymouth Oracy Project will draw on expertise from existing projects that have been delivered, such as language for learning (Bradford), talk of the town (Stevenage), Oracy Cambridge and School 21. The project will improve teachers’ theoretical and pedagogical understanding of dialogic talk for learning, with a particular focus on disadvantaged pupils’ Oracy development and educational outcomes. Outcomes from the above projects have demonstrated pupils make outstanding progress across the curriculum and the quality of teaching and learning is strengthened. This has been particularly true for disadvantaged pupils.
