Do you have a talent for talking about science in a way that makes it accessible and exciting for everyone?

Famelab is an exciting competition which is intended to give the next generation of science-related researchers the opportunity to communicate their work with the public in an entertaining and engaging way, and we've been selected as the location for their South West hub!

As a contestant you'll have just three minutes to communicate their research to an expert panel of judges, all while being watched by a global audience. Their presentation also has to demonstrate the “Three Cs” of FameLab: Content, Clarity and Charisma.

You'll be able to register for entry from 2 October 2023. In the meantime keep an eye on this page for updates!

Why take part in Famelab?

  • Contestants receive professional training on communication and presentation from Jamie Gallagher
  • Regional winners compete in the final the Cheltenham Festival
  • The national winner will then compete in the Famelab International Final

Who is Jamie Gallagher?

Jamie is an award winning science communicator who has taken science content to stages and screens around the world. A FameLab UK runner up in 2012 Jamie has gone on to judge the competition and train new contestants. When not sharing science on stage he helps others to do the same – looking to make science as interesting, memorable and accessible as possible.
