Elpida Achtaridou

Role Summary

In my role I champion the research and knowledge exchange (RKE) agendas, support the academic culture so that it aligns with these agendas, and enable growth in quality and income generating activities to deliver outputs and impact. To do so, I lead and manage Marjon’s RKE activities at both strategic and operational levels, as well as the implementation of Marjon’s RKE plan. Operational support encompasses administrative, financial, governance, compliance, and system-based aspects. For research, I lead the development and implementation of support across the research lifecycle. For Knowledge Exchange, I support the development and implementation of operations that allow Marjon to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders. 


Qualifications

  • MA in Education (by Research)
  • PGCE (Post-Compulsory Education and Training)
  • BA (Hons) in English with Education Studies
  • Certificate in Introductory Counselling Skills


Teaching

I support Marjon’s Doctoral School and teach on its Research Management module. Previously, I was Lecturer in Education Studies in HE and a teacher trainer for post-compulsory education. 


Research

I have extensive experience in research and evaluation particularly in the field of education and school improvement, school leadership, teaching, learning and assessment, and classroom research. In recent years I have also led projects in national security, youth work and the rehabilitation of offenders. My research interests also include evaluation methodologies.
