‘’This visit gave our students a real taste of university life. The tour of the campus showed them the great facilities at Marjon and helped them to picture what it would be like to be a student there. In the taster sessions our students got to see what nutrition and sports rehab lessons might be like and they really enjoyed getting hands on in the physiology lab.’’
Katie Yeomans (March, 2025)
‘’It was absolutely fantastic. The staff were very informative, gave a great tour of the campus and really showed off to the students what they have on offer. Students from the school came away with a great understanding on health testing methods, as well as how in-depth biomechanics and physiology testing can go.’’
Kat Kelly (March, 2025)
‘’A fantastic day for our A level PE and BTEC Sport pupils to experience a variety of Sports based courses on offer at the University. Students had the chance to experience how the labs work and have a go at a range of fitness tests and sports rehab methods, using equipment that would not be available back at school. Everyone involved was really helpful and knowledgeable, encouraging the students to get involved and really consider their options for University moving forwards. A tour of the University and a student finance talk finished off a very positive and informative day. ‘’

‘’ The day was well organised by Megan and she ensured that it was tailor made to our needs. It provided lots of opportunities for our students to gain an insight into studying the various sports courses on offer and university life. The students enjoyed participating in the various practical workshops including physiological lab testing and sports rehab and the students came away feeling very positive about the experience. Thank you.’’

‘’As A level PE lead at QE school in Crediton, I am always trying to think of methods of learning outside of the classroom to embed knowledge further. The Marjon sports science team do not disappoint. Chris and Meg are fantastic at organising the whole day, meeting our needs by linking discussion and tests to the specification, and delivering a brilliant insight into university life. Our students learnt so much from sports therapy and rehab techniques, sports technology methods put into practice, sports psychology and the pressures of dealing with anxiety and how their cardiovascular system coped with the dreaded Vo2 max test. All aspects were discussed in depth giving the students a greater understanding of theory in a practical, real life learning setting. The students came away motivated and inspired.
Our annual trip to Marjon is always worth it and it seems to get better and better every time we come.
Thank you both for a yet another brilliant day. See you next year.’’
