Journalism students' magazine released across Plymouth

Released: 28.06.18

Students from Plymouth Marjon University have brought Sound back for the summer. The Plymouth based listings magazine returns for its third year, created by Journalism and Sports Journalism students.

The second-year students have filled the magazine with Plymouth’s must-see summer hotspots, featuring everything from an interview with Bastille’s Chris Wood, to Frisbee Golf, to the best coffee across the city.

Senior Lecturer Mike Baker told us: “The project continues to improve with age. We’ve perfected it over the years, in terms of its design and content. This years second year have done a great job, really bringing the content in line with what we want it to be.”

The magazine will be distributed across the city including The Barbican Theatre and the Tourism and Information Centre, as well as local cafes and shop fronts across the city.

Mike continues: “We’ve got a thousand copies circulating across Plymouth so the exposure is great for our students!”

Journalism student, Chris Baker, told us that: “It’s been a great experience, writing the articles and then seeing them come alive on the page. This year, we’ve got lots of content and interviews, so it’s a really exciting and interesting issue.”
