Plymouth Marjon University Amongst the South West’s Best for Student Success

Plymouth Marjon University is celebrating strong National Student Survey (NSS) results, with students ranking the University among the best in the South West for teaching, academic support, and preparing graduates for successful careers.
Amongst 12 institutions across the South West, Students rated Marjon 1st in the region for helping them connect learning across different topics. For developing knowledge and skills needed for future careers, the University came 2nd. The support provided by lecturers also featured strongly, where Marjon came 2nd.
National recognition for learning and support
Students rated Marjon in the top 25% nationally for learning opportunities. Many of Marjon’s courses had 100% positivity scores from students in at least one question, and some subject areas such as Forensic Science were best in across the country in numerous categories.
Plymouth Marjon University Vice-Chancellor Professor Claire Taylor said:
"The results are a powerful endorsement of Marjon's commitment to outstanding teaching, personalised support, and helping every student achieve their potential. We really value listening to students, so receiving such positive feedback is fantastic.”
The results revealed strong performances across a range of subjects:
- In Forensic Science, students awarded joint first-place rankings for teaching quality, academic support, student voice and wellbeing support.
- Teacher Training ranked among the top programmes in the UK for teaching quality; helping students achieve their best work and preparing them to be great teachers.
- Health Science programmes achieved first-place rankings for engaging teaching and intellectually stimulating learning.
- Psychology and Forensic Science were ranked first in England for assessment and feedback.
