A Plymouth Marjon University student will graduate with First-Class Honours degree in Football Coaching & Development, becoming the first person in his family to complete a university degree.
Jack Hall described the achievement as one of the proudest moments of his life, not only for himself but also for the family who supported him throughout his journey.
He said: "Being the first person in my family to go to university is something I'm really proud of. It's a big achievement for me, but also something that I know means a lot to my family. Nobody in my immediate family had been through the university experience before, so it was all new to us.
"Looking back now, especially after finishing with First-Class Honours, it makes me realise how far I've come and how much the support from my family has helped me get here. Hopefully it can also show other people that university is possible, even if you're the first in your family to take that step."
The Football Coaching & Development graduate spoke warmly about the support he received from academic staff, particularly his dissertation supervisor, Dr Ben Moreland.
He said: "Your guidance, patience and continuous support have been invaluable. Your feedback challenged me to think more critically and pushed me out of my comfort zone, helping me develop academically and personally."
Jack highlighted the importance of friendship in shaping his university experience, describing his fellow students as "like brothers" and credited them with helping him stay at university during difficult moments.
Finally, he paid tribute to his parents, grandparents and brothers, saying: "Your unconditional love, support and encouragement have been the foundation of everything I have achieved. This achievement is as much yours as it is mine."
"I'm not exactly sure what comes next, but I'm excited to find out. For now, I'm just going to enjoy this moment. There will only ever be one first Hall to complete university."
