Role Summary

After completing my undergraduate studies in physiotherapy at The University of Birmingham in 2004, I spent three years as an acute rotational NHS physiotherapist at Warwick Hospital.  In 2007 I emigrated to the USA and furthered my education in the speciality of respiratory, gaining my Respiratory Care Practitioner credential and working for several years in acute and critical care at Yale-New Haven Hospital as a registered respiratory therapist.  On my return to the UK in 2014, I moved into a community role as a clinical specialist respiratory physiotherapist, supporting patients with chronic lung disease.   My curiosity in academia and education led me to pursue a role in higher education at The University of Gloucestershire where I completed my post-graduate studies in education and worked as senior lecturer.  I relocated to Devon in 2023, where I now work as service lead for a local NHS community respiratory team alongside my lecturer post at Marjon.
