Role Summary

Professor Gary Shum gained his PhD in Biomechanics from University of Sydney, Australia. His PhD examined the effect of back pain on the three-dimensional kinematics and kinetics of the lumber spine and hip. Gary’s main research interests are in musculoskeletal and sports biomechanics including inverse dynamics, gait analysis, ultrasound imaging and rehabilitation research.

Gary is a chartered physiotherapist and he has got extensive research, teaching and clinical experience, he joined Plymouth Marjon University in November 2015. He is an Honorary Professor of Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.
