Stu Watson is an outdoor adventurer, social enterprise leader, and lecturer with a focus on supporting neurodivergent people in business and education. They discovered the importance of the sensory and social freedom of the outdoors in childhood and have since built a career that combines adventure leadership, community enterprise, and higher education.
Stu co-founded Ethical Activities CIC in 2021 to help people gain qualifications, improve wellbeing through nature, and feel a sense of belonging. Seeing the barriers faced by neurodivergent entrepreneurs, they went on to establish NeuDICE CIC, a network supporting neurodivergent entrepreneurs and academics, and also direct Queer Out Loud CIC, which amplifies queer voices through enterprise and community work.
At Plymouth Marjon University, Stu teaches across the Outdoor Adventure Education programme, embedding experiential learning, critical pedagogy, and inclusive practice. Their research focuses on neuroqueering entrepreneurship, using social enterprise as action research to connect lived experience with business theory, pedagogy, and social impact. Their work reflects Marjon’s values of inconvenient excellence, place, and social purpose, challenging conventional models of business education and supporting diverse learners and entrepreneurs to thrive.
