Our Physiotherapy Interview Days are in person; this is our preference to watch you in action during a practical task, and provide you with a tour of our Health and Wellbeing Hub facilities. 8:30-9:00 - Arrive at The Welcome Desk and register with our Student Ambassadors
9:00-9:45 - Campus tour led by our Student Ambassadors
9:45-10:00 - Department Welcome Talk with Academic Director
10:00-10:30 - Course Introduction Talk with John Evans
10:30-10:45 - Comfort break with provided refreshments
10:45-11:00 - Group practical task
11:00-onwards - Individual interviews (once your interview has been conducted you are free to leave)
Meet the team
Gary Shum
Professor Gary Shum is the Programme Lead for the Physiotherapy course at Plymouth Marjon University. He gained his PhD in Biomechanics from University of Sydney, Australia. His PhD examined the effect of back pain on the three-dimensional kinematics and kinetics of the lumber spine and hip. Gary’s main research interests are in musculoskeletal and sports biomechanics including inverse dynamics, gait analysis, ultrasound imaging and rehabilitation research.
Gary is a chartered physiotherapist (UK, Hong Kong, Australia) and he has got extensive research, teaching and clinical experience, he joined Plymouth Marjon University in November 2015. He is an Honorary Professor of Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.
What happens next?
If you are successful in gaining a place on this course, students must consent to travelling for your assigned external practice-based learning placement which could be within 250 miles from Plymouth (normally 6 weeks in year 2, 12 weeks in year 3 and 12 weeks in year 4).
If you are successful in securing a place on our Integrated Masters Physiotherapy, you will be notified via UCAS. If you accept an offer with us, we will be in touch regarding your DBS check and online health assessment - you cannot apply for this independently.
Unsuccessful candidates will be made an alternative offer, where suitable.
