2/12 The centre, which is being sponsored by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and operated by Serco, will operate in addition to the regional drive-through test centre at the former Seaton Barracks site, near The Range, and the local
3/12 It will make it easier for anyone living in the area to get tested; especially those who do not have a car and so cannot access the Seaton Barracks site or for whom walking to the city centre is difficult.
4/12 Those being tested will be told to wash their hands before leaving home, wear a face covering on their journey to and from the centre, not to stop anywhere on the way, and not use public transport or taxis.
6/12 Test centre operators and visitors going for a test at the site will not be using any of the Marjon buildings or facilities and will be asked not to walk through campus. Students who have symptoms can get a test without having to travel
7/12 Testing is available only for those with COVID-19 symptoms – a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change to sense of smell or taste. Anyone with one or more of these symptoms should book a test at https://t.co/ccf7v6TbxL
9/12 A number of tests at the new site are due to made available from Thursday 22 October and the site is due to be fully operational between 8am and 8pm each day from Saturday 24 October.
10/12 Anyone testing positive for the virus will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace to identify their contacts, so that they can be advised to self-isolate.
11/12 These close contacts will also hear from NHS Test and Trace, asking them to stay at home for 14 days to prevent them from unknowingly spreading the virus. They will be advised to also book a test if they develop symptoms.
