The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. Plymouth Marjon University has been successful in its application for Turing funding for 25-26 to help students broaden horizons though our international partnerships to enhance employability skills inspired by our core values, Independence, Humanity Curiosity and Ambition.
At Marjon we recognise the importance of the overall experience which equips students with an array of transferable skills that grows confidence to achieve, but we appreciate it’s not always possible for students to apply for such opportunities due to financial circumstances. However, Turing funding also assists students that meet one or more of the listed disadvantaged criteria, as well as financial support with additional costs such as passport, visa, and health insurance, as required.
Each student circumstances can be different therefore monetory amounts vary accordingly. However if any students fit into any of the criteria below, then there is additional funding available.
- Students with an annual household income of £25,000 or less
- Students receiving Universal Credit or income related benefits
- Care leavers and students who are care experienced
- Students who have caring responsibilities
- Estranged students
- Refugees and asylum seekers
Marjon currently partners with Camp America, Challenger Sport, Hanoi University Science & Technology (HUST) and Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE), Catalyst, Berlin and St John University, NYC. For more information email International@marjon.ac.uk
