Candidates will be selected and invited to an interview date based on their personal statement and education history.

Interview Activity Information

Plymouth Marjon University prides itself in core values that weave through the culture of the university, the staff and the students. Those values are also at the heart of a good journalist and we hope to see some of that potential in your interview day.

You will take part in a news day where stories will be developed and produced for Radio, TV or online. You don’t need any prior skills or knowledge to succeed in this and you will be given lots of guidance throughout the session, so bring along team working skills and an interest in journalism.  We are assessing your ability to work hard and be enthusiastic about your subject.

Here are some things to bring with you:

Story idea

We will choose some of the ideas to develop within the news activities.

You may have started a blog, vlog or have a news or photography portfolio.   We are always interested to see your work.

We will provide a working lunch at the workshop lunch for candidates. Guests are able to bring lunch or are welcome to purchase lunch from the canteen

We are looking for passion and commitment to the subject. Previous experience of journalism and associated technology is not required.
