Role Summary

The aim of my research is to develop an understanding of literary provision for isolated, rural and coastal communities that nurtures reading for pleasure. Using Devon as a base for primary research, it will incorporate the creation of an evidence-based framework for the formation of bookshops in rural settings. It will examine how the accessibility of a diverse range of literary texts to disadvantaged children can be promoted, and by doing so, reduce educational inequalities and leverage social change.
