Role Summary

My research project aims to investigate to what extent (and how deeply) recent legal changes are deterring protestors. It uses a mixed-methodology, focusing to analyse the extent of deterrence (quantitative) and depth of deterrence (qualitative).

This research project will involve conversations and interactions with real, active activists and protestors – examining their unique worlds of dissent.

This research has implications for activists and their methodologies, and furthers knowledge of Foucauldian theories and deterrence theory.
