Role Summary

My research explores the experiences of women returning to primary school teaching in Cornwall after extended maternity leave of 12 months or more. Using a feminist and emancipatory approach, I intend to employ qualitative methods such as autoethnography and creative methodologies to uncover the challenges, identity shifts, and emotions faced by these participants. By combining my own narrative with the experiences of others, this study aims to amplify marginalised voices, provide new insights into teacher reintegration, and advocate for improved support systems within education.
